Where You Heading?

A few more weeks, and you'll be hitting the trails as an Alumni...

Happy Trails to You

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

-   Dale Evans and Roy Rogers
Did you just hum along to this old campfire song?
Did you hear the leadership message?
Great advice pops up out of nowhere every day.

Being "mindful" - in the moment -
helps you to dig well beneath the surface of just any old lyric to spark up your leadership style.

"Its the way you ride the trail that counts..."

This month's theme is "authenticity", being true to yourself...not faking it...knowing where you're going...

Who packed your camper full of gear...set your direction?
Are you travelling so fast that you don't catch
that special double rainbow
as you glide past?

Some Old "Cowboy Rules" Still Apply to Leadership!Roy Rogers was known as King of the Cowboys.  Dale Evans was Queen of the West.   Roy and Dale started off in radio, and became the tv leaders of a generation of kids in the 50's.

Just for fun...for the right-brainers:

"Don't Fence Me In"

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in.

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies.
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise.

I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hovels and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in.

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise.
Ba boo ba ba boo.

I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in.
No.
Poppa, don't you fence me in
