What Did You Say?

As your facilitator, I have a confession to make.

"Quotes" have been one of my obsessions since my early days in leadership.
There wouldn't be a closet big enough to hold all of them, and so I'm grateful for the electronic e-ease of storing them for future use.

Quotes point to your values, and beliefs...

To start off our year, I hope you enjoy this little selection about  leadership, personal development and community development.

If you've got a fave, send it in!  What's written at the bottom of your email messages?
We heard a few at the Retreat!

  • "Successful people rarely confuse a can-do attitude with a smart plan. But they realize that one without the other is unlikely to get you very far.”

  •  "I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe."

  • “You can’t shrink your way to greatness! “

  • “If there’s time for an emergency, why isn’t there time for brilliance, generosity or learning? “

  • “You are not your resume, you are your work. “
- Seth Godin

COMMUNITY

"There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about.

Ask "What's possible?" not "What's wrong?" Keep asking.

Notice what you care about.

Assume that many others share your dreams.

Be brave enough to start a conversation that matters.

Talk to people you know.

Talk to people you don't know.

Talk to people you never talk to.

Be intrigued by the differences you hear.

Expect to be surprised.

Treasure curiosity more than certainty.

Invite in everybody who cares to work on what's possible.

Acknowledge that everyone is an expert about something.

Know that creative solutions come from new connections.

Remember, you don't fear people whose story you know.

Real listening always brings people closer together.

Trust that meaningful conversations can change your world.

Rely on human goodness. Stay together."

- Meg Wheatley

Always when judging

Who people are,

Remember to footnote

The words "So far."

~Robert Brault
